Awards Ceremony
We had an awards ceremony on Monday June 1st, to celebrate paramedic saves and child birth deliveries in the field. The event was held in District Council Chambers on the evening of June 1st, and was attended by the District Chair Gord Adams, all the Mayors of the Muskoka District including:
- Claude Doughty, Mayor, Huntsville
- Susan Pryke, Mayor, Muskoka Lakes
- Janet Peake, Mayor, Lake of Bays
- Don Coates, Mayor, Bracebridge
- Jim Walden, Mayor, Georgian Bay Township
- John Klinck, Mayor, Gravenhurst
In this ceremony paramedics were recognized for successfully resuscitating patients in the field, including a 20 year old who was resuscitated during the Christmas Holidays, and a mid forties gentleman who collapsed in a gym. Both were discharged home with no deficits after a stay in the hospital. Paramedics were also recognized for successfully delivering a baby girl in the field, much to the joy and relief of the parents.
